Grand Seiko Automatic SBGR251 The Grand Seiko Mechanical Automatic SBGR251 features a stainless steel case and bracelet, a silver radial finished dial, and Seiko's in-house manufactured 9S65 movement. This SBGR251 goes through some of the most thorough testing in the watch industry, known as the Grand Seiko Standard. The current Grand Seiko Standard was developed in 1998 and consists of testing for 17 days in 3 different temperatures, 6 different positions and to be kept within a -3/+5 second per day accuracy when in static conditions. The 9S65 caliber is then cased into the SBGR251, and tested another 21 days. The Grand Seiko Standard exceeds the internationally recognized Chronometer standards in several different ways.
