Its origins can be traced to a round, water-resistant Cartier wristwatch introduced in 1943, whose distinctive architecture would later inspire the Pasha collection. The formula is immediately recognizable: a round case, bold Arabic numerals at the cardinal positions, and, most memorably, a screw-down crown cap tethered to the case by a small chain.
