Furlan Marri is a Geneva brand founded by Swiss designer Andrea Furlan and collector Hamad Al Marri, known for vintage-style chronographs and dress watches at low prices. It launched in 2021 with mecha-quartz chronographs and now also makes mechanical models with Swiss calibres. Prices run from about €500 to €2,800.

Andrea Furlan is a Swiss industrial designer who trained at ECAL in Lausanne and spent about four years with Dominique Renaud, working on the DR01 Twelve First, before consulting on design in Asia and California. Hamad Al Marri is a collector and artist who handles business development in the Middle East. The two set up Furlan Marri in Geneva in November 2019, and Furlan developed the first watches during the pandemic, working from his parents' apartment.

The brand launched on Kickstarter on 10 March 2021 with five 38 mm steel chronographs with stepped cases and vintage-style dials, powered by the Seiko VK64 mecha-quartz movement. Backers paid from USD 339, and the CHF 75,000 target was reached within a minute; the campaign closed at about 14 times its goal. The references included 1041-A 'Mr. Grey' and 1031-A 'Havana Salmon'. In November 2021, seven months after the launch, Furlan Marri won the Horological Revelation Prize at the GPHG.

About a year after the chronographs, the brand released its first mechanical watch, the Cornes de Vache reference 2116-A with a black sector dial and a La Joux-Perret G100 automatic. Limited Flyback Chronographs with the column-wheel Sellita AMT5100 followed in December 2023 at CHF 2,750, and in July 2024 the Disco Volante trilogy used the ultra-thin, hand-wound Peseux 7001 at CHF 2,500. The mecha-quartz range continues, with components mainly from Hong Kong and Japan and prototyping in Switzerland.

Mecha-quartz by choice
